Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Look up in the sky! It’s a star! It’s no moon! It’s the Death Star.

As December 16th, 2016 draws ever closer at the time of this writing, the realization that the eyes of Star Wars Superfans across the globe will be graced with front row seats to the construction and creation of the Empire’s Death Star for the first time in history. But packing a single film with the start-to-finish construction of the galaxy’s greatest super weapon- even at montage speed would be impossible! So where are all the details? How did the Death Star plans get from those lovable, cuddly Geonocians, to the hands of the Empire? Well fear not (in case you were fearing). Just in time for you to eye-crush the 352 pages between it’s hardcover-casing before the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars: Catalyst has hit the shelves nation wide.

And it’s a doozy.

Meet Galen Erso. A man on a mission to discover how to bring inexpensive energy to the under privileged planets in the galaxy through researching one of the most controversial resources in the Star Wars Universe: (no we’re not telling you what it is.. come on, those are some crazy spoilers!). Erso is “recruited” by the Empire for his knowledge, in an expertly executed political move involving several familiar names within the Empire’s ranks, and “invited” to contribute his work to their project.

Star Wars author James Luceno, who penned an impressive amount of Star Wars literature before “the purge” that accompanied Disney’s acquisition of the franchise, has raised his writing weapon once again to bring us Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel. The book is currently available on Amazon and in retailers nationwide. Check it out and tell us what you think!
