Who is Plo Koon?
Plo Koon, a Kel Dor from the planet Dorin, is remembered as one of the most wise and principled Jedi Masters of his time. With his distinctive mask, which helped him breathe in oxygen-rich environments, and his taloned fingers, Plo Koon stood out not only in appearance but also in his unwavering commitment to the Jedi Code. A seat-holder on the Jedi High Council, his wisdom and combat skills made him a formidable presence during the tumultuous times leading up to and during the Clone Wars.
Master Plo was known for his exceptional piloting abilities, often taking command in space battles where his skills shone. He also played a key role in several ground engagements throughout the Clone Wars, leading clone troopers with a compassionate yet strategic mindset. Many critical missions were led by Master Plo, including the rescue of Adi Gallia from General Grievous and the pursuit of the Malevolence. Among his many contributions, perhaps the most notable was his discovery of a young Force-sensitive Ahsoka Tano, who would become Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan and leave an indelible mark on the galaxy’s history.
As with many of his Jedi brethren, Plo Koon met a tragic end during Order 66. Betrayed by the very clone troopers he led and trusted, he was shot down over Cato Neimoidia. Yet, his legacy lived on, remembered as a beacon of justice and virtue in a galaxy that often teetered on the edge of darkness.
