Once it is out of the box, check your lightsaber hilt, blade, and included accessories before assembly. Make sure nothing appears loose or damaged, and locate the blade retention screw and supplied wrench. Ultrasabers includes the correct blade-retention screw wrench with every saber purchase.
Always keep your lightsaber powered off while installing or removing its blade. When the blade is removed, a blade plug can be installed in the emitter. In addition to completing the hilt’s appearance, this plug helps prevent a high-powered in-hilt LED from shining directly into eyes. Keep in mind that the right fit depends on your saber’s design, so check your lightsaber emitter before choosing a blade plug.
Most Ultrasabers lightsabers ship with the blade already installed, but in case it was shipped disassembled, installing an Ultrasabers blade only takes a few steps, but, much like a successful duel, it’s critical to start off on the right foot:

Once your blade is installed, make sure you have enough room to wield it safely. Stay clear of people, pets, furniture, ceilings, windows, and objects within your swing radius. It’s also important to check that the blade is securely attached before dueling or practicing choreography. If you’re sparring with another person, establish rules beforehand and use equipment that’s suited to the activity.

Removing your blade is essentially the installation process in reverse. Turn off the lightsaber, use the appropriate wrench to loosen the retention screw, and gently slide the blade straight out of the emitter. If you’re displaying or storing the hilt without its blade, consider inserting a blade plug into the empty emitter. This helps protect against accidentally looking directly into the bright LED in base-lit sabers.
A little care after your Ultrasabers unboxing and usage can help keep your saber looking its best long after its first ignition. Store your lightsaber in a dry, protected place when it isn’t in use, and periodically check the blade and retention screw before use. If your polycarbonate blade collects dust, fingerprints or light marks, wipe it with a soft cloth and plain water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. The blade retention screw should be tightened enough to hold the blade securely inside the emitter. Avoid overtightening it; once the blade is firmly seated and doesn’t move within the emitter, additional force isn’t necessary.
Some Ultrasabers can illuminate without a blade installed, but you should never look directly into a high-powered in-hilt LED. Ultrasabers recommends installing a blade plug when the blade is removed to prevent the LED from shining directly into someone’s eyes.

You don’t have to remove your lightsaber blade for storage, but doing so can make it easier to store and help protect the blade from accidental bumps or damage. For your lightsaber’s safety, if you remove the blade, store it somewhere dry and protected, and consider using a blade plug in the empty emitter.
Nearly all Ultrasabers can use a belt clip wheel, which attaches the lightsaber to a separate belt clip worn on your belt. Not every saber includes a belt clip wheel by default, so check the configuration of your particular hilt if you plan to carry it for cosplay or other activities.
